I think I love to give gifts more than I like to get them. What about you?
I’m really happy when I find that prefect gift that fits the person I love!
This year I have had a field day on pinterest with my board Gifts of Greatness. These are gifts that are not very expensive but are “superFun and uberCreative”. Here fun finds on my Christmas giving wish list.
Gifts- Kids
I fell in love with this Super Hero Fort Kit the moment that I saw it! What a perfect gift for my boys at ages 3 and 5. They love to pretend. They love superheros. And they love to make tents! Perfect gift. For my boys, I was thinking about doing two separate colors with personalize Super Hero logos and adding a cape to match. Also, this year in 5K my oldest has been learning about “using your super powers of self control”. So, I might include a poem and/or pray for the boys using verses like Philippians 4:13 and Galatians 5:22-23. I’m not sure if I will actually get my sewing machine out to do this. TRUTH- I’m really not good at sewing (it stresses me out), so this might not ever get made but it sure is a wonderful idea!
There is a great tutorial at Saltwater Kids on how to make a couple of different types of fort kits.
Gifts- Teachers
Every year Shane’s dad makes the “best fudge ever” for his work associates. He also makes lots for us to gift to friends. It truly is amazing fudge. So much so, that many people have suggested that he start a business.
So when I saw this idea on Pinterest via Tip Junkie, I immediately emailed it to Shane’s dad! This Cookie Cutter Fudge was originally pinned fromĀ Betty Crocker. I think the kids’ teachers at church and school are going to love these!
Gifts- Neighbors
Every year Shane makes Chocolate Chip Cookies for our neighbors. They are almost as yummy as his dad’s fudge. I’m just glad we have fudge & cookies in the house once a year or I would be in trouble. The neighbors are always asking for the recipe. So this year, I want to use the cookie wrap idea from Better Homes & Gardens & include Shane’s recipe.
BY the way, Shane uses the recipe on the back of the Ghirardelli Semi-Sweet Chocolate except he uses half whole wheat & half white flour & then substitute half the butter with margarine. Not sure about Papa’s Fudge recipes. It is top secret!
Gifts- Grandparents

Love, love this idea from Oopsey Daisy Blog for the grands! The pictures say it all. Of course, grands’ coasters will have all the grandkids pictured from the past year.
Gifts- Friends
Yes, this Ice Cream Sundae Kit is something my best friend (& I) would so enjoy. The special wrapping & labels makes this look like an expensive gift. This would also be a great gift for a family with kids, gift swap, or hostess gift. Find it Family Bites.
I cannot forget husbands. As for Shane, I think this is the perfect gift (no peeking Shane), since he is big Denver Bronco & Tebow fan (he grew up in CO).
I want to encourage you this Christmas season not to spend lots of money on gifts, but give your time to your family and give your money (and time) to those in need. Tomorrow, I will be part of the 12 Day of Freedom blog tour. You can subscribe to the tour HERE. I will be sharing about the amazing ministry of FreeSet and my best friend.
Love,
Mitzi
