Bright spot of the day- Tonight we had the end of the year missions recognition service for Acteens, GAs, and Boy’s Mission. The service was beautiful.
The service began with an acoustic solo of “Take My Life” and then the fathers escorted the Acteens to the front of the sanctuary and presented their awards. The GAs and Boys Missions took turns coming to the front, sharing memories about their year. When each group finished, they went to and sat in the choir loft. At the end, the choir loft and two rows of the balcony were occupied. It was wonderful to see so many children and youth involved in missions education.
Our pastor, closed with a very meaningful illustration. He had everyone hold out a cupped hand and, with the other hand, pretend to put everything the girls, parents, leaders, and church invested during the year into the cupped had. The pastor then cupped both hands together to show the overwhelming investment. He showed how all we did during the year was done for God’s glory in service to Him. It was very inspirational.
